At Heritage Cycling UK, we believe cycling is about much more than the ride. It is about the people we meet, the places we discover, the stories we share and the traditions that connect generations of cyclists.
We were founded to celebrate that heritage and bring it to life through memorable cycling events, vintage gatherings and community experiences that welcome everyone who shares a love of cycling and its history.
We want to help keep cycling's rich heritage alive — and introduce it to new generations.
My own cycling journey didn't begin with a racing career. I discovered cycling later in life. What began as a hobby grew into a lasting passion.
I lived in Italy for eight years and developed a particular appreciation for cycling culture, historic races, legendary climbs, classic bicycles and local traditions.
That experience helped shape my vision for Heritage Cycling UK: to celebrate British cycling not just as a sport, but as a cultural heritage that deserves to be shared, experienced and enjoyed.
We are particularly interested in the traditions of British and European cycling, the golden age of the bicycle and the distinctive character of vintage and classic cycling events.
But heritage isn't just about looking backwards. It's about creating new memories, building friendships and giving people a reason to come together.
Whether you're an experienced rider, a collector of classic bicycles, a newcomer to cycling or simply curious about its history, there should be something to inspire you.
We believe the best cycling events do more than bring riders to a start line. They can showcase local landscapes, support independent businesses, celebrate local identity and create opportunities for communities to get involved.
That's why we want to work with local organisations, businesses, volunteers, cycling groups and heritage enthusiasts to develop events that are distinctive, welcoming and beneficial to the places that host them.
Heritage Cycling UK is building a programme of experiences that celebrates the past while looking confidently to the future.
We want to preserve the spirit of traditional cycling, make it accessible to a wider audience and create events that people look forward to returning to year after year.
Because cycling heritage isn't simply something to remember. It's something to experience, share and pass on.
We look forward to welcoming you along for the ride.
